Made for diabetic feet
Protection for sugar patients, built in
- ✓ Soft MCR/MCP off-loading insole
Spreads pressure evenly across the sole and relieves areas of high plantar pressure. - ✓ Hard, tough outsole
Stops sharp objects like nails and thorns from getting through to the foot. - ✓ Wide toe box
No squeezing of the toes or the front of the foot. - ✓ Parallel-bar Velcro straps
Open wide to fit ulcer dressings and neuropathic swelling, and adjust through the day. - ✓ Soft-lined straps
MCR/MCP lining on every strap, so no hard edge rubs the skin. - ✓ Stable heel counter
Holds the heel steady and makes up for weak foot muscles, a common neuropathy problem.
Ulcer, callus or a tender spot? Pairs can be custom-made, for example with a scoop under the ulcer area, an off-loading wedge, a rocker sole, a metatarsal bar or a heel pad. Describe it in the order notes and we will confirm with you before making your pair.
Features of this pair
✓ Soft MCR/MCP cushioning
MCR (micro cellular rubber) and MCP (micro cellular polyurethane) are light, resilient cushioning materials. In Softysoles footwear they form the footbed and line the straps, so pressure is spread across the sole and the straps stay gentle on the skin.
✓ Shore A-optimised softness
Shore A is the scale used to measure how hard a rubber or foam feels: the lower the number, the softer the material. Softysoles chooses softer, lower Shore A materials for the parts that touch your foot.
✓ Parallel-bar straps
Two or three straps run side by side across the foot and each adjusts on its own. Loosen the front for a wider forefoot or dressings, or tighten it as swelling changes during the day.
✓ Adjustable Velcro closure
Hook-and-loop fastening opens and closes in a second, works with one hand and can be fine-tuned without laces or buckles.
✓ Soft-lined straps
The inside of each strap is lined with soft MCR/MCP so there is no hard edge where a strap meets your skin.
✓ Heel counter
A firm cup around the heel keeps the foot steady inside the shoe and helps it stay in place with every step.
✓ Achilles cushion
Soft padding around the back of the heel and ankle, the place where footwear most often rubs.
✓ Covered front
The front of the sandal is covered to protect the toes.
Diabosole
Diabosole is our range for people who live with diabetes. A soft MCR/MCP footbed spreads pressure across the sole, straps open wide to make room for swelling or dressings, and a supportive heel keeps every step steady.
Designed for
- Feet that need extra width or room for swelling and dressings
- Sensitive skin that should not be rubbed by seams or hard edges
- Anyone who wants a stable heel and straps that adjust through the day
Diabetes can reduce feeling in the feet, so a well-fitting pair matters more than usual. Measure carefully, choose the larger size when in doubt, look at your feet every day, and speak to your doctor about any sore, blister or change in feeling.
Neurosole
Neurosole is made for feet with reduced or altered feeling, such as neuropathy. A stable heel counter with Achilles cushion, soft-lined straps that do not rub, and generous width give a secure, forgiving fit.
Designed for
- Feet with reduced sensation, tingling or burning
- People who need a stable heel and closures that are easy to adjust
- Fit that stays comfortable when the feet swell
When feeling is reduced you may not notice a shoe that is too tight. Check the fit by eye and by hand, wear new pairs for short spells at first, and inspect your feet after each use.
